The Muhammad Ali Mosque, or Alabaster Mosque, is located in the Citadel of Cairo and was commissioned by Muhammad Ali Pasha between 1830 and 1848.
As the largest Ottoman mosque from the early 19th century, it features twin minarets and honors Muhammad Ali's son, Tusun Pasha, who died in 1816. The mosque is a prominent landmark and tourist attraction alongside the Cairo Citadel.
