Saladin Ayyubi began building a castle on the Mokattam Mountain, and Sultan Al-Kamil bin Al-Adil completed it to become a royal residence.

 

It contains 90 meters of success during the past five years. It is considered one of the most magnificent military castles in the Middle Ages, in addition to its strategic location that attracts Cairo and Fustat. It recorded multiple events and control until Muhammad Ali Pasha took over the rule of Egypt and revived it.
